I had lots of fun on this outfit, as this is one of my favorite fashion styles. These Edwardian, turn -of-the-century outfits are now available at Genre for only $100L through the event month. Hats are $50L. The boots are available in my shop.
Madison is the culmination of lots of research, looking for women in the Civil War. I found some very interesting articles and photos – see my pinterest list for a few – but of course, my Madison outfit is a bit … shinier… than anything historically accurate. No woman fighting during the civil war would have been seen in something so flashy and extravagant. Well, maybe in a dress review? Post-civil war parties?
The jacket is all over detail, with custom embossed roses on the lapel, collar and sleeves, brass buttons and chains. The trousers have rivets down the sides that match the buckle/strap rivets on the boots.
Each piece is available separately, but you save on the bundle. The bundle includes cap with goggles, jacket, trousers, boots, and bonus blouse with collar, cravat/scarf and cameo fastener.
I’ve introduced Madison in four colors: brown/gold, black/silver, red/brass and green/gold.
I had a request for some long tight pants to wear with Jaden’s outfit instead of the built-in boots with pants that are in the outfit bundle. Finally, here they are! The first version, anyway, tight fitting, nice round booty, high waist, mesh in 5 sizes. Comes in two versions, full length and shortened to wear with calf boots. They should be tight enough to wear with taller boots. I made Jaden’s stripe colors, plus a few more with colors to match Millicent and Vittoria jackets.
On sale in the main shop this weekend. They’ll be regular price and on the MP after that.
I’m having fun with this one, it’s not traditional anything, but then, most of my stuff doesn’t fall properly into any category.
It all started with the jacket…
This amazing mesh has buttons all down the front and super wide lapels. It also has straps and buckles across the back which I’m not fond of, and I wish the mesher had added buttons on the cuff, but other than that, it’s a perfect mesh!
The other outfit pieces followed — cravat, button-up blouse, trousers, hat and the most wonderful little boots!
All these pieces are available separately, but I also made an outfit bundle to save $L.
And then I had to make more colors. Voila! Vittoria in five colors (red, green, black, blue, and steampunk brown):
Black, red and steampunk are available on the marketplace now and I’ll be adding the rest shortly.
I actually made 7 of these gowns in different shades, but I opted to only release 3 for the Genre Big Band event. The others are ready for launch after the event ends. It was tough choosing which 3 to release. My personal favorite is the Flame gown which shimmers in a lovely way as if you’re on fire. Special light settings in the new firestorm are amazing. Anyway, here are the 3 gowns, only available at the Genre event through May 11:
There are matching earrings in a huge dangly deco style for $10L.
Stop by the Mieville shop for more info on this hunt. There’s a street sign just outside the main door as you land that gives hint, shop LMs and group joiner. Then head inside to find the hunt prize — a replication of a gown Katherine wore in season … 2? Not sure. I just fell in love with the gown and had to give it a shot.
3 more gown in similar style have just been added as well, all in sumptuous jewel tones, available inworld, coming soon to the MP:
I love that these old books and documents are available to us! This one is 142 pages of instruction with illustrations in the center. Check this page, where you can find a class in proper tailoring offered to women. Snicker… guess there was stitching and sewing, and then there was tailoring.
Inspired by Lucrezia Borgia, gowns in the fashion of that era available in 3 colors. Includes empire waist skirts, chemise/blouse, dress top with straps and dress top with long sleeves, puff shoulder sleeves and mesh long sleeves with alpha.
